International Symposium on Ocean Literacy for Blue Citizens 2026

Pursuant to Article 8 of Taiwan’s Personal Data Protection Act, the National Academy of Marine Research, as the organizer, and the National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology, as the implementing organization, hereby inform you of the following matters in connection with this event:

1. Purposes of Collection

The personal data you provide will be used for event registration and eligibility verification, registration capacity and participant management, communications and notifications, preparation of name badges and participant lists, check-in and on-site administration, catering, transportation, accommodation, insurance and reception arrangements, satisfaction surveys, statistical analysis of event outcomes, event documentation, and other administrative purposes related to this event.

2. Categories of Personal Data Collected

The personal data collected for this event may include your name, gender, date of birth, national identification number or passport number, telephone number, email address, mailing address, organization, job title, participant category, dietary or accessibility requirements, transportation, accommodation and insurance information, as well as records relating to registration, attendance, check-in and survey responses.

Photography, video recording or audio recording may take place during the event. The information collected may therefore include participants’ images, voices, remarks, organizational affiliations and job titles. The data collected will be limited to the information specified in the registration form and any information reasonably necessary for the administration of the event.

3. Period, Area, Recipients, and Methods of Use

(1) Period of use:
From the date on which the registration information is submitted or the event images are recorded until the completion of the event, related administrative procedures and outcome reporting. The information may subsequently be retained for the period required under applicable laws, contractual obligations or records-retention requirements.

(2) Area of use:
Within the territory of the Republic of China (Taiwan), as well as in any locations reasonably necessary for information system services, international communications or online publication.

(3) Recipients of the data:
The organizer, the implementing organization, co-organizers, contractors commissioned to assist with the event, and government agencies or other authorities legally entitled to access the information.

(4) Methods of use:
The information may be collected, processed, retained, verified, communicated, compiled and analyzed through paper-based, electronic, automated or non-automated means for the preparation of participant lists, administration of the event and other activities consistent with the purposes stated above.

Event photographs, audiovisual recordings and written records may be reasonably edited, reproduced, publicly displayed or transmitted for use in outcome reports, meeting records, event videos, official websites, social media, video-sharing platforms, electronic newsletters, press releases, media coverage, publications, presentations and other non-commercial purposes related to event documentation, dissemination of event outcomes or public communication. No additional remuneration will be provided for such use.

Participant lists disclosed to external parties will, in principle, contain only information necessary for the event, such as participants’ names, organizations and job titles. Telephone numbers, email addresses, national identification numbers, passport numbers and other non-essential personal data will not be made public.

4. Rights of the Data Subject

In accordance with Article 3 of Taiwan’s Personal Data Protection Act, you may request access to or review of your personal data, obtain a copy, request that the data be supplemented or corrected, request the cessation of its collection, processing or use, or request its deletion.

5. Consequences of Not Providing Personal Data

You may choose whether to provide your personal data. However, failure to provide required information, or the provision of incomplete or inaccurate information, may result in your being unable to complete registration, have your eligibility verified, receive insurance or reception services, or receive event-related notifications.

6. Notice Regarding Event Images

The organizer and the implementing organization will use event images only to the extent reasonably necessary and will not use them in any distorted, derogatory, misleading or otherwise inappropriate manner that may harm participants’ rights or interests.

If you do not wish to have clearly identifiable close-up images of yourself photographed, recorded or publicly used, please notify the event staff at check-in. Where reasonably practicable, the organizer will provide appropriate arrangements, such as a no-photography identifier, designated seating or other suitable measures.

Please note that it may not be possible to completely exclude every participant from wide-angle event photographs, recordings of public areas or group photographs. Participants who do not wish to appear in such images should avoid the main photography areas and inform the event staff before group photographs are taken.

個人資料及活動影像蒐集、處理與利用告知事項
依據臺灣《個人資料保護法》第8條規定，【主辦單位-國家海洋研究院】及【執行單位-國立高雄科技大學】於辦理本活動時，向您告知下列事項：
一、蒐集目的
您所提供之個人資料，將用於活動報名及資格審核、名額管理、聯繫通知、識別證與名冊製作、簽到與現場管理、餐飲、交通、住宿、保險及接待安排、滿意度調查、成果統計、活動紀錄，以及其他與本活動相關之行政作業。

二、蒐集之個人資料
本活動可能蒐集姓名、性別、出生年月日、身分證統一編號或護照號碼、電話、電子郵件、通訊地址、服務單位、職稱、參與身分、飲食及無障礙需求、交通、住宿與保險資料，以及報名、出席、簽到、問卷回饋等活動參與紀錄。
活動期間可能進行攝影、錄影或錄音，所蒐集之資料可能包含參與者之肖像、聲音、發言內容、服務單位及職稱。實際蒐集項目以本報名表單及活動現場之必要範圍為限。

三、利用期間、地區、對象及方式
（一）利用期間：自提交報名資料或活動拍攝之日起，至活動辦理完畢、相關行政及成果作業完成，並依適用法令、契約或檔案保存規定所定期限保存。
（二）利用地區：中華民國境內，以及因資訊系統服務、國際聯繫或網路公開所及之地區。
（三）利用對象：主辦單位、執行單位、協辦單位、受委託辦理本活動之廠商，以及依法有權調閱資料之機關。
（四）利用方式：以紙本、電子、自動化或非自動化方式，辦理資料保存、核對、聯繫、統計、名冊製作、活動管理及其他符合前述目的之利用。
活動照片、影音及文字紀錄可能經合理編輯、重製、公開展示或公開傳輸，運用於成果報告、會議紀錄、成果影片、官方網站、社群媒體、影音平臺、電子報、新聞稿、媒體報導、出版品、簡報及其他與本活動紀錄、成果推廣或公共宣導相關之非營利用途，不另支付報酬。
對外提供之活動名冊原則上僅揭露姓名、服務單位及職稱等必要資訊；電話、電子郵件、身分證統一編號、護照號碼及其他非必要資料不對外公開。

四、當事人權利
您得依《個人資料保護法》第3條規定，就本人個人資料請求查詢、閱覽、製給複製本、補充、更正、停止蒐集、處理或利用，以及請求刪除。

五、不提供資料之影響
您得自由選擇是否提供個人資料；惟未提供必填資料、資料不完整或有誤，可能導致無法完成報名、確認資格、辦理保險或接待服務，或無法接收活動通知。

六、活動影像注意事項
主辦單位及執行單位將於合理且必要範圍內使用活動影像，並避免以歪曲、醜化、誤導或其他損害參與者權益之方式使用。

如您不希望清楚可辨識之個人特寫影像被拍攝或公開，請於活動報到時主動告知工作人員，主辦單位將於合理可行範圍內提供不入鏡識別、座位安排或其他適當措施。
惟活動全景、公共空間紀錄及團體合照可能無法完全排除所有參與者；不願入鏡者請避開主要攝影區域，並於團體合照前向工作人員表明。
