Ambassador Workshop

Introduction

This four-day, three-night intensive workshop integrates the CoralWatch Chart coral health monitoring system developed in Australia with field-based training in Taiwan’s coastal waters and collaborative educational engagement with schools and local communities. The program is designed to systematically cultivate participants’ expertise in coral reef ecology, standardized survey methodologies, and science communication skills. The curriculum includes professional classroom lectures, intertidal and snorkeling-based field surveys, hands-on training in monitoring data submission, and final project presentations.

Day 2 Intertidal and Snorkeling Field Practice

Operation of the CoralWatch platform and application of monitoring data

Day 4 Final Presentations and Advocacy

Group presentations and exchange on regional outreach models

Eligibility

Open to all applicants; priority will be given to citizen science promoters, marine educators, NGO professionals, and diving practitioners from coral reef-distributed countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

2. Attendance Confirmation Measures

To facilitate workshop arrangements and avoid no-shows that may affect other participants, the following measures will apply:

1. Applicants currently in Taiwan: A refundable deposit of NTD 3,000 is required. Payment details will be provided separately after attendance is confirmed. The deposit will be refunded after the workshop concludes (bank transfer fees shall be borne by the participant).

2. Applicants currently overseas: Please email proof of your purchased flight ticket by Friday, April 24.
